Because Music has officially announced the acquisition of a range of divestments from Warner Music, including a hunk of catalogue from the London Records archives.
Regular readers will note that MBW broke the news two months ago.
Because picks up the majority of the London catalogue as part of the deal, including recordings from Factory artists such as Happy Mondays.
Other recordings are covered by the deal from artists such as Bananarama, Fine Young Cannibals (pictured), Orbital, Jimmy Somerville, Bronski Beat, East 17, Goldie and Shakespears Sister.
Ex-Factory artists including New Order and Joy Division are not part of the agreement.
Although Because isn’t reviving the London Records name, it does plan to release the newly-bought material under the name London Music Stream, which will operate separately from the Because Music UK office.
